Welcome to Palmersquared on festivals created by Helen Palmer

Delve into the world of arts festivals and find out what’s happening behind the scenes and what’s making the news.

Why sign up to Palmersquared on festivals?

I’ve spent over thirty years working as a marketing and communications specialist in the arts in the UK and was lucky to fall into working on festivals early in my career. I’ve been part of many founding festival teams including Manchester International Festival, and the lure of festivals keeps me coming back for more.

Whether you work in the festivals sector, or a regular festival attender or just curious about what’s going in the world of arts festivals, in my monthly newsletter I’ll be lifting the lid on some of the hot topics, news and trends facing the industry today - all with the perspective of the audience in mind.

Each month I’ll be selecting some of my upcoming festival highlights across the UK and internationally.

I’ll also share some of my personal festival experiences and insights as a marketing and communications specialist, including the time I had to explain to a journalist why a bull was tethered outside a theatre, or when I had to climb up a ladder on opening night to remove a Councillor from the top of a shelving unit containing fragile ceramics…

Palmer Squared is the name of my consultancy business.
